Director's Cut of Watchmen to HIt Select Threaters July 17th

Variety reports that Zack Snyder's director's cut of Watchmen will arrive July 17th for a one-week release at four venues in Dallas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and New York. The director's cut includes an extra 25 minutes of footage.

Snyder made the announcement Wednesday during an event at the studio to promote the DVD and Blu-ray releases of "Watchmen: The Director's Cut" and "300: The Complete Experience" on July 21.

Snyder's cut contains 25 additional minutes of footage. He had indicated during the March premiere that a theatrical release of the longer version was under consideration.

The DVD and Blu-ray of Watchmen will be available July 21st.
