Lucasfilm Plans Star Wars Comedy Cartoon Sitcom

Sci Fi Wire reports that Lucasfilm is planning a cartoon comedy sitcom in the Star Wars universe. The show will air on the Cartoon Network.

The Daily Show's Brendan Hay will be one of the writers, and Seth Green and Matthew Seinreich, creators and executive producers of Robot Chicken, will have "creative involvement." Daytime Emmy and Gemini Award winner Jennifer Hill (The Backyardians) will produce, with Todd Grimes (Back at the Barnyard) directing.

Laughter directly from Lucasfilm in the Star Wars universe may not work. There are already plenty of Star Wars spoofs but they primarily come from outside Lucasfilm.
