A Few Oscars For Science Fiction and Fantasy Films
There were not many films nominated for Academy Awards in the science fiction and fantasy categories but a few films did win Oscars including Wall-E, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Dark Knight. Here's a list:
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (3): Art Direction, Visual effects and Makeup.
The Dark Knight (2): Best Supporting actor and Sound Mixing.
Wall-E: Best Animated Feature
La Maison en Petits Cubes: Best Animated Short Film
The Dark Knight was snubbed in the Best Picture category. The attendance last night likely would have been even higher if it had been up for Best Picture.
