Star Trek Goes IMAX J.J. Abrams' Star Trek wasn't shot in IMAX format, but it will be converted into IMAX format so that fans can see the film in two versions when it is released in May, 2009. The last film we saw in IMAX was Beowulf; that film really needs to be seen in IMAX to get the full effect.
